Translator/editor in the animation industry (FunnyFlux) February 2023 - Present

Primary translator for Korean to English localization. Complete translations under tight deadlines with great accuracy while providing feedback on the general storyline. Featured in the end credits as the "Story Translator" for multiple seasons across four FunnyFlux shows.

• Translate and edit animation scripts targeted at toddlers and elementary school students.
• Develop new words for culturally different writing styles, such as puns, rhyme jokes, and onomatopoeia.
• Consistently meet all production deadlines, including urgent high-priority work.
• Communicate directly with Korean writers to help them understand cultural differences and context-specific language, such as jokes, rhymes, and puns.
• Edit English writers’ drafts and finished scripts based on FunnyFlux’s requirements.
• Create dialog files containing each character’s lines, names, and the scene numbers of the videos for dubbing in other languages.
• Compare the dialogue files with the recorded video and incorporate any missing words into the transcripts based on the spoken lines from the videos.



Chargeback Assistant (KB Kookmin Card) January 2020 – July 2021

Processed chargeback/dispute cases for both issuer and acquirer sides. Created new procedures and adjusted the requirements of processing chargebacks for T&E cases during COVID, which resulted in positive outcomes for thousands of individual cases. Worked with senior management during high-level meetings with foreign companies, serving as an interpreter and proofreader of business contracts.

• Processed over 500 monthly chargeback cases for international brands such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay International, and JCB.
• Translated chargeback/dispute regulations of major card processors as they were updated.
• Translated 3D Secure procedures for major card processors and regulations for department-wide use after analyzing rejected cases.
• Translated all received proof/evidence from Korean to English.
• Recognized patterns in cases that were the result of fraud and forwarded for investigation to other departments.
• Created and updated templates for frequently reported fraud or dispute cases based on market trends to raise efficiency and possibilities of a positive outcome.
• Followed all KB Kookmin Card chargeback policies and followed the proper procedures to amend those policies during COVID-19 to improve chargeback outcomes.
• Served as an advisor to a renewal of the overall chargeback/dispute section of the KB Kookmin card web page based on analyzing fraud trends and consumers’ requests.
• Rejected cases in which abusing the chargeback process is apparent.
• Worked directly with customers to obtain crucial proof based on regulations.
• Advised customer service team on card processor regulations and internal systems.
• Created training documents for new employees.
• Trained new employees with templates in KB Kookmin card standards.



English Complaint Manager (Seoul Tourism Association) March 2019 – December 2019

Reported complaints collected from tourists on the phone, on-site, and by email to the City of Seoul. Created a process for the identification of cases that were the result of widespread merchant fraud for referral to the Seoul Metropolitan police.

• Handled English-speaking tourists’ complaints, offered interpretation or translation services between tourists and merchants, and assisted in mediating any issues.
• Facilitated a mediating process based on understanding cultural differences between Koreans and tourists from other countries.
• Documented all reported complaints from tourists for use by the Tourism Association and the City of Seoul.
• Assisted in promotion and marketing efforts for the Seoul Tourism Complaint Center.
• Visited other tourism organizations and obtained feedback on ways to promote Seoul Tourism.
