American Translators Association Elects New Officers

The American Translators Association, the nation's largest professional organization for translators and interpreters, announced the election of its new board of directors.

Officers (for a two-year term):
President: Marian S. Greenfield, South Plainfield, New Jersey
President-Elect: Jiri Stejskal, Melrose Park, Pennsylvania
Secretary: Alan K. Melby, Provo, Utah
Treasurer: Peter W. Krawutschke, Kalamazoo, Michigan

Directors (for a three-year term):
Jacki Noh, Albany, California
Boris Silversteyn, Venice, Florida
Liliana Valenzuela, Austin, Texas

The following Officers and Directors are currently serving on the Board:

Founded in 1959, the American Translators Association's primary goals include fostering and supporting the professional development of translators and interpreters and promoting the translation and interpreting professions. ATA, based in Alexandria, Virginia, currently has more than 9,500 members worldwide.
