Certification Maintenance Committee
Committee Objective
ATA initiated a Continuing Education Program in 2004. The Certification Maintenance Committee (formerly the Continuing Education Requirements Committee) was established to oversee the continuing education requirements for ATA-certified members.
The Certification Maintenance Committee is asked to do the following:
- encourage certified Association members to update and advance their translation and/or interpreting skills, and related business and technology skills;
- direct the management of ATA’s continuing education point system for a variety of learning activities; and
- conduct periodic reviews of the continuing education requirements, ensuring that they are directly related to the skills required in the translation and interpreting industry and quantifiable and verifiable, and make recommendations for changes to the Board of Directors.
